Privacy Policy
Short version: Nota has no accounts, collects no personal data and never records or uploads your audio. Everything the apps know about you stays on your device.
Microphone
When you choose to play on a real instrument, Nota uses the microphone to detect which notes you play. The audio is analysed on the device in real time and immediately discarded. It is not recorded, stored or sent anywhere. You can revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings; the apps then work with on-screen play or MIDI.
MIDI
If you connect a MIDI keyboard, Nota reads the key events locally. Nothing is transmitted.
Data stored on your device
Your progress (stars, completed lessons, practice streak), settings and onboarding answers (experience level, daily goal) are stored only on your device in the app's private storage. Deleting the app deletes them.
Purchases
Premium is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment and gives the app only an anonymous confirmation that a purchase is active. We do not receive your name, address or payment details. Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Notifications
Practice reminders are optional local notifications scheduled on your device. No push server is involved.
Content downloads
Songs and lessons are bundled with the app. Future updates may download additional content from our servers; those requests contain no identifiers beyond what any internet connection carries (your IP address, handled in the hosting provider's standard server logs and not linked to you by us).
Analytics and advertising
The apps contain no advertising and no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. We currently do not collect analytics. If we add anonymous, aggregated usage statistics in the future (for example, how often a lesson is completed), this policy will be updated first and the data will never identify you.
Children
Nota is suitable for all ages. Because the apps collect no personal data, no data is collected from children either.
Your rights
Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete; you control everything by deleting the app. For any privacy question, write to vasiliib547@gmail.com.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with a new effective date.
